Minutes Secretary Required

August 2008

Cambridge Harriers require a Minutes Secretary in order to take minutes at monthly Committee meetings and other meetings, if called.

The Minutes Secretary must be able to attend the monthly committee meeting at the Bexley clubhouse, held on the first Thursday of every month. The post holder will be responsible for taking and then typing the minutes to then circulate by e mail to committee members.

Warburton Wins Inaugural Wooderson Race

Loughborough based athlete Chris Warburton won the inaugural Sydney Wooderson Memorial Race last night, snatching victory in a tight finish.

Youth gain promotion as Harriers enjoy a swift half

Cambridge Harriers will be promoted to the Premier Division of the UK Young Athletes league, after gaining second place at their final meeting.

Harriers aim for international success

Joe Durrant competed in Birmingham this weekend at the Olympic Qualifying Trials, while Curtis Griffith-Parker represented Britain at the World Youth Championships in Poland.

Elms Eclipses Euro Champion

6 July 2008

Clare Elms beat rival European champion Bernadine Pritchett to gain gold at the British Masters this weekend.

Athlete of the Month - June

7 June 2008

Congratulations to Joe Durrant and Charlotte Lucas who win the male and female Athlete of the Month award for June.

Joe acheived second place in the 800m at the National Championships in a time of 1:53.07. Joe will now attend the English Olympic Trials later this month.

Charlotte managed to break the club U17 ladies record in the pole vault at the UK Young Athletes League, clearing a hight of 2.20 meters.

In voting on this months Athlete of the Month, the Committee would like to also commend Francois Potgieter for his match winning efforts in the Men's Southern League in Devon, last week.

Lacy makes milestone

3 July 2008

Dean Lacy broke the 3:50 mark for the first time in the 1500m's at last nights BMC meeting in Watford.

He placed 5th and in the process smashed his previous personal best, set over 2 years ago, by 3.34 seconds when recording a time of 3:49:59.
